Contact my child or pastor

Many sponsors have asked if it is okay to write to the person that they sponsor. The answer is, “Yes, absolutely!”. HMI encourages you to write as often as you would like. Those you sponsor enjoy getting letters from outside India and they are a real encouragement. Any correspondence can be sent through our US office.
For security and safety reasons, HMI does not allow direct contact with the field. However, you can send any letters, packages and/or e-mail to our office and we will forward them on. This ensures that we can screen any information or language that might be inappropriate in an Indian culture and context. We can also make sure to edit any information that might lead to a church planter being unnecessarily persecuted or investigated. Our screening also helps to prevent direct requests for money. All of our field workers are informed of the correct policy for expressing their needs. Any needs that come in to the office are first reviewed to see if it is something that we can handle internally, or if it is a legitimate need that we feel is appropriate to pass on to you as the sponsor.

This policy help us keeps you safe, HMI safe, and our field workers safe. If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to contact our US office. Thanks for understanding and we hope that you will be able to develop a real and loving relationship with those that you sponsor.
